Oulder Hill Community School
The school is now using Parentmail2 as their electronic communication system. All students should have brought a letter home regarding registration for this. The registration code was valid for 21 days and has now expired. Can we encourage all parents who have not yet registered to contact the school for a new registration code.
On Monday 5 March an artist will be visiting Oulder Hill to work with GCSE Art students in both Years 10 and 11. This will be a fantastic opportunity for them to work with a professional artist so that they can develop their portfolio and prepare for their exams and coursework. We look forward to seeing the results.
As many readers will know, the Rochdale Festival of Performing Arts started last weekend with the woodwind and brass classes. Following on from the successes of previous years, it should come as no surprise that our students are coming up trumps again. All our competitors achieved “Highly Commended” for their performances, against some very tough competition. They were Georgia Flynn, Rachael Ayres, Jenny Nairn and Megan Mitchell. Molly Williams and Sidhra Mahmood were also participating in a non-competitive class as it was their first time and they were much appreciated by a knowledgeable audience. Well done to you all – you have done yourselves proud and represented the school with aplomb. We look forward to seeing how our many other students perform as the festival progresses – watch this space.
Congratulations to Katie Fitton, who won an Amazon Kindle last Friday as a prize for her hard work. Teachers were asked to nominate students who had produced a particularly good piece of homework over the past half-term, and Katie’s name was the one that was drawn out during a special assembly which was attended by parents and carers of those students nominated. As you can imagine, she was delighted.
