Date published: 22 February 2012
The people of Rochdale have raised over £1,300 for Age UK.
The money was raised as part of Bobble Day, which took place on 10 February.
Bobble Day is part of Age UK’s ‘Spread the Warmth Campaign.’
Paul Gala, of Age UK Rochdale, said: “We have been delighted with the fantastic response to our Bobble Day, schools and local businesses have come together to show they really care about the issues that affect local older people.”
AST Hampsons Solicitors held a charity baking bonanza and a raffle, whilst pupils and staff at Oulder Hill School put on their woolly jumpers and bobbles for the day.
Age UK staff and volunteers were to be seen going Bobble bonkers at Rochdale market and those back at the Age UK Rochdale office got their Bobbles out for the good cause.
