Campaign group gather for public screening of documentary

Date published: 21 February 2012

Members and supporters of the Rochdale branch of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign gathered at Spotland Community Centre for a public screening of the 2006 documentary The Iron Wall, calling for ‘justice for the Palestinians.’

The film emphasised the group’s view that the state of Israel commits war crimes against Palestinian civilians on a daily basis.

They recalled the deaths of many hundreds of Palestinian children Israel's attacks on Gaza in December 2009 and January 2010 and urged shoppers to boycott all Israeli produced goods, until Israel respects human rights and international law.

A spokesperson for Rochdale PSC thanked Haji Cash and Carry who provided food for the event and Spotland Community Centre’s committee and caretaker for use of the building.
