The Harrows pub is a medium sized pub, situated near Springfield Park on Bolton Road.
It is a traditional pub with a restaurant, they serve a good selection of draught beers, wines and spirits.

The night we went the pub was busy, but there was plenty of room to get round and lots of tables and seating in the bar.

This is a carvery so there was no waiting to be served, as soon as you are ready you can choose what you want to eat.

There is a choice of three meats, roast beef, turkey and ham, all home cooked, you could choose any two. The beef was melt in the mouth delicious, the turkey and ham were also well cooked and served.

The vegetables on offer were carrots, peas or cauliflower cheese. There was also mashed or roast potatoes, stuffing, Yorkshire puds and gravy. There was a good selection of condiments on offer.

The food was fresh, homemade, and whilst we were there they constantly took away the empty dishes and brought more freshly cooked vegetables and potatoes and Yorkshire puds.

The staff were friendly, chatty and helpful.

The rooms are clean and there is a separate dining room for families, so there would be no problem for families visiting with young children.

To facilitate all disabled customers, the pub has disabled access throughout the premises along with disabled toilets and friendly staff who are always on hand to help.

For all those sports fanatics, sport is available on two televisions throughout the pub, both of which are plasma screen.

If you are a guest who doesn’t fancy watching the big games or races then don’t worry the pub also has a pool table and dartboard to keep you entertained.

During the summer months, the pubs beer garden is a place to relax with a refreshing drink and light bite to eat from the bar whilst chatting with friends and family.

All special occasions such as Birthdays and Christenings can be catered for in the pubs private function room, which can accommodate up to 100 guests at one time.

There is plenty of parking space available.

Scores:
Food - Very good. If you want good, honest home cooked food it will be difficult to find better. Score 4/5

Drinks - Good bar area. Even though there is a TV, pool table and dart board there is still lots of room to sit and chat. Score 4/5

Service - Friendly, welcoming, you could take your time, or as a few people did, just eat and go. Score 4/5

Cleanliness - Loo areas spotless as was restaurant and the bar 5/5

Decor/Ambience - Bright, clean, modern. Tables not too close together and background music not intrusive. Score 4/5

Disabled Access - All facilities on ground floor. Separate disabled loo. Score 4/5

Value for money - Cost about £14.50 for 2 people for 2 drinks, carvery and sweet, coffee was also included, but we chose not to have any. Great value for money given the overall quality. Score 5/5

Recommend? Yes. If you want a good home made meal with a warm welcome and a great food you could do far worse.

Doggie Bags: The restaurant sells bags of dog/cat food which is the off cuts from the carvery, my dog loved this, would visit again just to get more for him, cost just £1.00 per bag. Great idea.
