Rescued animals draw in the crowds
Date published: 15 February 2012
The North West Animal Rescue’s showcase of birds and animals is proving popular in Rochdale this half term.
NWAR have been showing shoppers in the Rochdale Exchange some of the birds and animals they have rescued or hand reared from babies.
Members of the public can see different species of owls, birds of prey, rabbits, snakes and bearded dragons.
So far favourites with the crowd include Jack and Jill the ferrets, Tilly the Greek tortoise, Leo the gecko and Spike and Izzy the bearded dragons.
NWAR is a non-profit fund run by volunteers and relies purely on donations with all money raised goes directly back into the service to cover vet fees, vital rescue equipment, rehabilitation work, food, rent and general overheads.
NWAR will be at the shopping centre until Saturday (18 February).
