Students create ‘word cloud’ for new look campus

The Student Leadership Team at Hopwood Hall College has helped to create a ‘word cloud’ to be displayed on the new look Rochdale Campus.

The Rochdale Campus of Hopwood Hall College has been undergoing a massive overhaul; the £7m project, part funded by the Council, includes demolishing of some parts and recladding the main block.

The work on the campus is part of a wider regeneration plan. The redeveloped building aims to provide better access for students and the public, more efficient use of space and a dramatic modernisation of the building’s appearance as well as new specialist hair and beauty training areas.

Whilst the redevelopment is being completed, there is some space on the side of the building for a large display board; Corporate Services Director Saf Arfan thought it would be a great opportunity for the students to get involved in producing something for the display. So, he enlisted the help of the College’s Student Leadership Team to complete a project called ‘What does Hopwood Hall College mean to us?’ the results would then be used to create a ‘word cloud’ image for use on the display board.
