Students awarded grants

Three students have been awarded a grant of £50 each from the Aspire Generations Group.

Last month AGG put two grants up for grabs and asked students to get in touch and explain why they should receive the cash. They were so overwhelmed that they opted to award grants to three students.

This week Mohammed Nadeem and Masoon Elahi from AGG handed over the grants to Keri Aldritt, Farhana Naz and Najmin Hoque.

Miss Aldritt, 25, is studying Midwifery at Salford University, she said: “I think putting money back into the community is noble and I like the fact AGG are promoting education and supporting local people.”

Miss Naz, who is studying for a diploma at Hopwood Hall College, said: “Attending college is financially quite demanding and I am delighted and impressed the way AGG are supporting grassroots communities.”

Miss Hoque, the third grant winner, is 16-years-old and studies at Oldham Sixth Form College.

AGG Promoter Mohammed Nadeem, said: “Aspire Generations are committed to helping communities prosper and develop. We are local community members working with economically and socially deprived people in society, we are determined to see positive change in people’s lives.”
