Fire-fighters tackle roof fire in Milnrow
Date published: 08 February 2012
Smoke billowing from the roof raised the alarm that there was a fire at a house in Milnrow.
Three fire engines were called to Bramhall Close, Milnrow, at 2.30pm on Tuesday (7 February).
The crews, two from Rochdale and one from Littleborough fire stations attended, and four fire-fighters in breathing apparatus tackled the blaze.
Ceiling joists were alight after a fire started in an airing cupboard.
The fire was out by 3.10pm but fire-fighters worked at the scene damping down until 4.30pm.
The cause of the fire is thought to be an electrical fault in the airing cupboard.
