Band prepares for area finals

Milnrow Band

Members of Milnrow Band are well into rehearsals for the North West Regional Championships in Blackpool later this month.

The competition is part of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.

The band, with Mareika Gray at the helm, will once again be competing in the Championship Section, bidding to maintain its ‘mid way’ position amongst some of the best North West bands in the section.

There will be a record total of 81 bands competing in 4 sections at the Winter Gardens Blackpool on the day, 26 February, all competing to be the few to represent the North West Area in the National Finals later in the year.

As a prelude, Milnrow Band, along with 3 other bands will be previewing the competition pieces in a concert at Boarshurst Band Club on Sunday 19 February.
