Players take to the stage to raise funds

The cast of Mother Goose

The Pennine Panto Players have taken to the stage to raise funds for the North West Air Ambulance and Birch Hill Eye ward.
 
Mother Goose is this year’s pantomime and it marks a fresh start for the players, who were previously known as the Rochdale Infirmary Players.
 
Along with a new name there are also some new faces – all keen to raise money for the chosen charities.
 
Tonight (Friday 3 February) was the show’s opening night at Falinge Park High School.
 
The group was set up 31 years ago to raise money for new hospital equipment; it started off as one night and then grew and grew and has become an annual event and over the years thousands of pounds have been raised.
 
The group took the decision to rename last year following changes at the Infirmary but still want to carry on in their fundraising events.

Cast member Kelly Fenton said: “For some of the cast it is there first time, others are doing different things, such as front of house and some of the cast who were in the chorus last year have main parts this year.”

The cast auditioned for the panto in September and have been rehearsing ever since.
 
The pantomime is also on on Saturday and Sunday at 2.00pm and Saturday at 7.30pm. Tickets are still available for Saturday evening and guests can pay on the door.
