Join ambulance service on shift

Date published: 28 January 2012

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a Paramedic? Well, now you can get a ‘virtual’ idea with the North West Ambulance Service’s ‘Tweet-a-thon.'

Every day from Monday (30 January), the North West’s ambulance service will bring to life a days’ work by a different ambulance crew via Twitter, covering the five counties which make up the North West.

The idea is to show the variety of incidents an emergency ambulance attends along with the other tasks they have to complete in a typical day such as stocking the medicine bag and cleaning the ambulance.

Director of Emergency Services, Derek Cartwright said: “The day to day working life of an ambulance crew can be unpredictable, we  never completely know what’s behind each 999 call until we get there so we have no idea what we will experience on the day, however it’s sure to be informative and interesting .
