Hospice opens new shop in Middleton
Date published: 27 January 2012
Sarah Ford and Julie Halliwell from Springhill Hospice and the Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale join Hospice Chairman Robert Clegg for the official opening of the shop
A new Springhill Hospice shop has opened in Middleton.
The opening event was attended by dignitaries including the Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale, Councillor Alan Godson and Gillian Brown, the founder of the Hospice, Margaret Geoghegan and Hospice Chairman Robert Clegg.
The official opening was marked with a ribbon cutting, which was cut by Mr Clegg.
The shop, based on Wood Street, brings the Hospice’s total number of shops to six.
The Hospice already has shops in Rochdale, Whitworth and Littleborough.
Opening a shop in Middleton was extra special for the Hospice because its first patients, in October 1989, were two men from Middleton.
The Hospice would like to thank everybody for attending and Essential Marble & Granite in Heywood who donated a counter for the shop.
