Leader to take charge of finance portfolio
Date published: 26 January 2012
The Leader of Rochdale Council, Councillor Colin Lambert, is to temporarily take charge of the finance portfolio role.
Councillor Farooq Ahmed previously held the role but his suspension by the Labour party over a video that appears to show him smoking cannabis – something he denies – means he can’t hold a Cabinet role.
At a meeting of full council on Wednesday night councillors were informed of the update.
Councillor Lambert took charge of the finance portfolio on 16 January.
