Authority shortlisted for awards

Rochdale Council has been shortlisted for four awards from the Local Government Association – one of the categories being ‘The Most Improved Council.’
The other categories for which the authority has been nominated are:
- The Council with the Greatest Community Involvement
- The Council with the Best Practice in Economic Development
- The Best Legal Team
The Deputy Leader of Rochdale Council, Councillor Peter Williams, said: “The Local Government Association has singled this borough out in quite an unprecedented way for four awards.
“I am sure members around the chamber will be wanting and encouraging the council to get up there.
“It is actually fairly unprecedented that we have been shortlisted for four awards it would be very good if we had been shortlisted for one of those award but actually it is four, there’s some really good news there.”
