Councillor Dale Mulgrew has issued a fresh call for an Arts Centre and Civic Theatre to be developed in Rochdale town centre.
Councillor Mulgrew said when he first become a Councillor and made the suggestion encouraging remarks were made and now he wants to “see a revival of the project.”
He said: “Can we, in the spirit of co-operation, support the revival of the project? We need to look at resuscitating the town centre and an Art Centre and Civic Theatre could do that.
“Can we be united to see if we can look at delivering perhaps for the town centre a much desired Arts Centre and Civic Theatre?”
Council Leader, Colin Lambert, said reports looking at how to link with Touchstones were being prepared and he would be happy for Councillor Mulgrew to get involved.
