St Cuthbert's R.C Business & Enterprise College

Date published: 24 January 2012

This week’s Enterprise word is: “Innovation.”

The half-term’s Enterprise focus for year seven is Independent Learning.

Year 7 News:

Congratulations to Raquel Gonclaves form 7.1 the weekly winner for the “You have to be in to win” competition.

Well done to Mr Sidlow and form 7.3 who won this weeks weekly attendance challenge with 99%.

Year 7 detentions now fall in line with the rest of the school and pupils are expected to attend after school detentions if issued.

If your contact telephone has recently changed please forward new details to the school office.

Year 9:
All Year 9 pupils are off on retreat this week to Salford. The retreat is run by the “Just Youth” team. The pupils will be accompanied by their form teachers and support staff. This is a great opportunity for reflection, prayer and fun. We wish them well.

St Cuthbert's Under 12's girls and boys football teams both represented Rochdale in the Greater Manchester Area finals of the National Schools 5 a side competition. Both teams gave a good account of themselves with the boys finishing 4th and the girls finishing 3rd.

7-9 received a thank you from the African Oyster Trust (Charity no. 1118298), because they raised £30.14 through donating their spare change during advent. This money will be spent on the pupils in the Hilary Emery Nursery School in the Gambia. The project was coordinated by Dr Laura Evans, GTP student who is working with our form and has links to the charity. The school is named after Laura's late mother and the family have done lots of fundraising to support the school.

Diary Dates: Year 9 Retreat week beginning 23 January.
Half term Monday February 10 returning Monday February 17th.
