Police officer sacked after allegedly having sex on duty
Date published: 20 January 2012
A police officer from Rochdale has been sacked after allegedly having sex on duty.
Troy Van-Eda, 44, has been dismissed for gross misconduct by Greater Manchester Police, following a three-day disciplinary hearing.
It is alleged Mr Van-Eda had sex with five women while on duty, including a liaison with one woman in the boiler room at Littleborough Police Station, the day after stopping her for not wearing a seatbelt and asking for her phone number.
He also faced claims he had sex at two police stations as well as at the women's homes.
All five women gave evidence at the disciplinary hearing after which Mr Van-Eda was dismissed.
There was no criminal investigation.
Assistant Chief Constable Dawn Copley said: "Greater Manchester Police expects the very highest standards of all its officers and staff.
"Clearly this officer's behaviour while on duty was completely unacceptable.
"As soon as his conduct came to light, the Professional Standards Branch carried out a thorough investigation and as a result of a disciplinary hearing the officer has been found guilty of gross misconduct and dismissed without notice."
Mr Van-Eda denies the claims and plans to appeal his dismissal.
