Two local women made redundant venture into paintball business

When sisters in law Maria Goodey and Paula Denby were made redundant from the firm they had both worked at for over 20 years they decided to try their hand at something new. Initially they wanted to set up a children’s party venue and then their idea snowballed - and in November they opened Paintball+, Queensway, Rochdale.

Paintball+ is the biggest indoor paintballing arena in the North West. With two paintballing arenas - 'The Village' and the 'Supair Arena' - it is already proving to be hugely popular with groups and paintballing teams from up and down the country.

However, their original idea wasn’t lost and the building they occupy, which is easily accessible from the motorway, also boasts two party rooms which are available for hire for children’s parties. The first is a disco room, with its own ‘non-alcoholic’ cocktail bar and the second is a party room that can be decorated to a theme at request.

“Whatever people want we will try our best to do,” said Maria.

The Party Rooms cater for children’s parties for any age and any occasion, with a minimum of 10 children attending.

The paintballing arenas are available for parties, teambuilding exercises and for team use and because they use .50 calibre paint balls – the only site in the North West to do so – anybody over the age of ten can take part. Again the minimum number of players is 10.

For smaller groups Open Day sessions will be running on Saturday 11 February 2012 at 10.30am-1.30pm and Sunday 19 February 2012 at 10.30am-1.30pm. Ring to book a place!

Paula added: “When people come here they are amazed at how big it is and what we have to offer.”

Situated in Ensor Mill, Paintball+ also has a viewing room for people to watch the paintballing or parents to watch the parties, changing rooms, a briefing room, a café, a large reception area and a sizeable car park.

Paintball+ is a member of the UK PSF (Paintball Sports Federation) and adheres to its Code of Practice and all staff are CRB checked.
