Electric fan sparks fire in bathroom

An electrical fault on a fan sparked a fire in a bathroom at a house in Rochdale.
Fire-fighters from Littleborough Fire Station were called to the semi-detached property in Spokeshave Way, Smallbridge, just after 2.00am this morning. (17 January).
Damage was caused to the fan but the crew managed to stop the fire spreading.
They also carried out a free Home Safety Check in the property.
Residents are reminded to ensure their electrics are checked by a qualified electrician.
