The waiting is nearly over for developments shortlisted in this year’s Rochdale Borough Design Awards.
The winners will be announced on Tuesday 21 February during a ceremony at Rochdale Town Hall with the awards being presented by Sir Robert McAlpine, owner of the leading UK construction and civil engineering company and sponsor of the prestigious annual awards.
Three awards will be made on the night – the Rochdale Borough Design Award, chosen by a panel of experts, the People’s Design Award, voted for by the public, and a special award for contribution to regeneration.
Six developments made the shortlist, with the owners and architects now awaiting the final results.
Competing for the coveted awards are: Rydal Gardens Apartments, Middleton, Springfield Park, Rochdale, Mike Goldrick Window Blinds, Heywood, Golden Mosque Islamic Cultural Centre, Rochdale, The Pavillion, Birtle Brook Village and Jowkin View, Furban Road, Rochdale.
Last year Rochdale 6th Form College collected ‘The Rochdale Borough Design Award’ and
Bib Knowl Farm in Littleborough won the hotly contested Peoples Design Award.
