A group of young people from Rochdale, who have completed a four week course to increase their employability and boost their confidence, have joined together to celebrate their achievements and receive their certificates.
The group completed lessons in effective CV writing, interview techniques and writing successful application forms. They then received an OCR (Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations) accredited qualification.
Twenty-five year-old Rahela Begum said: “Doing the mock interview gave me some ideas of how to improve and I feel more confident.”
The Employability Skills course was delivered at Groundwork Oldham and Rochdale’s Middleton Office and Get Online Middleton in the Arndale Centre by skills tutors from Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale and with ESF funding from Oldham College.
Janet Ratchford, Course Tutor from Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale, said: “I am really impressed by the hard work and commitment shown by the learners and delighted that many of them have gone on to other successful outcomes including employment and volunteer work.”
Stephen Aitken, Strategic Funding Manager at Oldham College, who attended the celebration said: “It was a pleasure being part of an event which shared in the successes of the students who had clearly worked hard to achieve their qualifications.”
