Eco Club:
Eco Club is on at school every Wednesday till 4.15pm.

Rugby – Years 5/6:
Rugby has now started after school on Tuesdays. There are a few places left. If anyone is interested, please see Mrs. Taylor.

Street Dancing:
We are having a Street Dance taster day with a view to starting an afterschool club for KS1 children – more information to follow.

Basket Ball:
Basket Ball at Matthew Moss is on Thursdays after school but all the places are now taken.

Years 5/6 Swimming Training:
Year 5/6 swimming training is on Friday mornings. Please meet at Castleton baths at 8.30am.

Glee Club:
Glee Club is on Fridays after school until 4.15pm.

Cookery Club:
Cookery Club starts again on Wednesday, 18th January with the same group of children. Please ensure children bring an apron and a container to take their food home.

Dodge Ball:
Dodge Ball starts on Tuesday 17th January for Years 3 and 4. If there are any places left, they will be offered out to the rest of the school.

Retirement:
Our school cook, Linda Davies, retired last Friday. Linda has worked at St. Edward’s for 21 years. We had a special assembly and everyone wished her good luck for the future.

Music Lessons:
Fees for this half term are now due. Lessons are £2.85 per week or £14.25 until February half term. Thank you.

Dinner Money:
Lunches are now £1.80 per day - £9.00 per week and should be paid on a Monday morning. Please send dinner money in an envelope with your child’s name and class on. Thank you.
There is a copy of the menus on our school portal. Next week we are on Week 2.

Get Your Child’s Hair Cut and Help to Raise Money for School:
If any child from our school has their hair cut at Regalia Hair on Manchester Road, the owner Ruth has generously offered to donate all the takings to school funds. Cuts are £5 for 1 child; £8 for 2 children; £12 for 3 children and £18 for 4 children. If you would like to book an appointment, phone Ruth on 346347.

Holiday List:
There is a Holiday List on the back of this week’s newsletter.

Recycled Shoes:
Please send any old shoes into school for recycling – school receives money but the shoes will be sent for use in 3rd world countries.

Students:
For the next two weeks we have 2 students from Manchester University in Year 3 and 4 to do some Teaching Assistant training.
