Residents gathered together for the Kashmir Youth Projects ‘Little Gems Night’ at the Unity House Centre on Belfield Road to raise funds for new outdoor play equipment for the Little Gems Nursery.
The evening event, held in December, included a live performance from Burnley’s Nasir Khan who performed a number of tracks and a cameo appearance from Rochdale’s Bonafide who presented the raffle and auction prizes to the winners.
The event was arranged by staff and volunteers in KYP’s nursery, Little Gems, to raise funds for outdoor play equipment and raise awareness of the community facilities at KYP’s Unique Enterprise and Unity House centres.
Anwar Shad, evening compare and Crescent radio presenter said: “The event provided an excellent opportunity to bring the community together, enjoy the quality entertainment and to raise much needed funds for valuable play equipment for children to ensure they get good start in their early year’s education and development.
“All the artists, support staff and local business were amazing in donating their time, skills and money for a worthy cause.”
