This week sees the launch of a new CEPA Arts Word Trail Competition that is open to all years. The entry forms are available from Community Tutors or directly from the CEPA Office. Fifteen Arts Words have been hidden around the school building. Learners have to locate them and write them down on the entry form. Three winners will be drawn from all the correct entries submitted. The competition closes on the last school day in January. Please submit all your entry forms to Mr De Courcey in the CEPA Office.

Copies of the DVD of our highly successful school pantomime, 'Sleeping Beauty' are now available from Mr DeCourcey in CEPA. If you would like to purchase a copy, then please complete and order form and hand it in with the correct amount as soon as possible.

Congratulations to Elisha Blomfield, Sara Hadfield and Cara McGlinchey who competed in the Rochdale Shopping Centre Wheatsheaf Christmas X-Factor Competition in December we know that all three entrants impressed the judges but we haven't yet heard the outcome. Well done to all three students for their dedication and energy!

Copies of a parent/guardian leaflet titled 'How To Help Your Child Develop In The Arts' is to be issued to parents of Year 7 and 8 students in the next week or so. The eight page booklet offers parents advice and tips on how to ensure that learners make the most of their time developing in the creative, expressive and performing arts. Copies of the booklet are available to parents in other years upon request.

Drama Club will resume on the week beginning 16th of January at the usual time and place. Well done to all the regular club members who participated in pantomime. The club welcomes new members from all years. Please speak to Mr DeCourcey or Mr Mvula if you would like to find out more.

Nineteenth and early twentieth century theatre posters have been put on display on the main school corridor for a major new exhibition centred around 'Shows of the Past'. We hope that learners will take a moment to have a look at the wide range of colourful posters on display. We hope to feature a learner article about nineteenth century theatre in the next edition of our Arts College Newsletter.
