Thomas Cook in Rochdale town centre is set to close.
The store, on Market Way, is the one earmarked for closure. The store on Lord Square will remain in the town.
A spokesperson for Thomas Cook, said: “We can confirm we’re proposing to close the Thomas Cook Rochdale Market Way store. We have a Thomas Cook store on Lord Square in Rochdale, as well as www.thomascook.com and other leading websites - which will continue to support all of our customer’s travel needs.
“We’re working with those potentially affected colleagues at the Market Way store, as they go through the consultation period.”
Following Thomas Cook’s recent merger with the Co-operative Travel and the Midlands Co-operative travel division, Ian Ailles, Thomas Cook UK Mainstream CEO and chairman of the Retail Joint Venture, said: “We’ve undertaken a comprehensive review of our retail network and today’s proposals will ensure that as the UK's leading high street travel retailer we have the right stores in the right places for our customers.
“We will now be consulting with those affected colleagues and looking at redeployment opportunities.
“Our high street stores are a popular way for customers to book with us and are an essential part of our multi-channel approach alongside our websites and sales centres."
