Councillor Pat Colclough with members of the Fieldway Action Group back in October.
Rochdale Council has agreed to look again at proposals for safety measures to be introduced at the Fieldway residential complex on Broad Lane.
At the end of October calls for safety measures to be introduced were rejected, but after residents stepped up their campaign, the council has agreed to look again.
Ward councillor, Pat Colclough called in the matter for reconsideration and it was discussed at a meeting of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
Councillor Colclough, said: “I welcome this decision from the Scrutiny committee to allow the proposal for a traffic order at Fieldway to be heard again.
“It was not my intention to over complicate this matter, but after consulting with the Fieldway action group it was clear they wanted the original decision to be challenged.
“This decision will now allow for all the details to be included the next time this proposal is discussed."
Councillor Dale Mulgrew, who presented the Call In said: "Can I thank the Scrutiny committee for their constructive approach in hearing this call in.
“I am pleased the relevant Rochdale Township committee will now be given the chance to consider this proposal again.
“I am aware of a continuing parking situation around this location which involves a wider community concern and I want to continue to work towards an outcome that helps everyone.”
