AGMA refuse tender winner announced

C.P. Davidson & Sons Ltd has won the AGMA (Association of Greater Manchester Authorities) tender; resulting in a three year contract to supply a number of council authorities – including Rochdale - with new refuse bodies.

Engineering solutions company CPD, along with a number of other suppliers, were invited to complete an application for tender. The applications were ranked based on; 50 per cent quality and 50 per cent price.

Rebecca Davidson sales co-ordinator of the Chorley-based firm said: “When AGMA confirmed CPD were the winning bidders we were all ecstatic, hours of hard work has paid off.

“This tender has introduced us to some new customers, as well as allowing us to continue supplying existing ones.”

Ms Davidson, added: “This is where the real work begins, as a company we strive to provide the best possible service and level of workmanship for our customers and we fully appreciate the amount of time required on specialist vehicles.”

CPD are providing the Semat refuse collection body which gives a great payload, is renowned for its reliability, long life span and ability to collect all types of waste. The Semat body will be fitted to Mercedes Econic Chassis’s and will feature a Terberg Omnidel Xtra bin lift.

With a deadline of April 2012 and orders received to date from the following AGMA members; Wigan, Bury, Bolton and Rochdale it looks like full steam ahead at the CPD production department.
