What is happening in the classroom?
Spotlight on language and grammar:
Next week our focus is on Christmas acrostics and other festive word and sentence fun.
Parents and carers please spare ten minutes or more per night with your child to support the work that the children are doing in school.
Statements to live by:
I try to follow our school and classroom rules
We strive to instil within the children a sense of belonging within a range of communities and for them to play an active role as members of society.
The week ahead:
Christmas assembly in church Tuesday morning at 9.30am. Each class will be presenting their favourite carol from the Altar. There will also be Christmas readings to listen to. All parents, carers and grandparents are welcome to come and join us.
Tuesday is a non-uniform day on a Christmas theme please but don’t go spending money on anything new.
Tuesday afternoon the children will all have their Christmas parties in classes.
On Wednesday Class 5 will walk with staff to The Mews Care home to entertain the residents with Christmas carols at 11.00am.
Closing dates:
Nursery and Reception classes are closed for two days at the end of next week (Thursday 15 and Friday 16) to enable the move into the new classrooms.
All other classes i.e. 1 to 6 finish at 2.00pm on Friday 16 December.
The new extension:
The new extension will be open when the staff and children return to school on Wednesday 4 January. The new build will be a great addition to our school and will provide long awaited up-to-date facilities for the children to enjoy and benefit from for years to come.
