Day of Action - Current position from North West Ambulance Service
Date published: 30 November 2011
An ambulance spokesperson comments:
"We can confirm that the service is operating with a reduced workforce today and we do have less ambulance on the road than we would normally have.
"Our priority is to provide a safe service to the public and 999 calls will be answered and responded to, however it is likely that some patients will experience a delay in our response. Our patient transport service is only operating for those patients who require urgent care such as dialysis, cancer care or palliative care.
"We would ask the public to help us maintain a service to those who urgently need our help and to only call 999 in the event of a serious or life-threatening condition."
