Future looks bright for college

Hopwood Hall College has hit an all-time high for its ‘Achievement Rate’; this measure is used by the Government to gauge how schools and colleges are performing; it shows how many students completed and subsequently passed a programme of study (such as GCSEs, NVQs and BTECs).
The 95% figure represents a 7% improvement over just one year for the College and follows hot on the heels of one of the best OFSTED reports they have ever received.
Over the past 6 years, Principal Derek O’Toole has led his staff to pull together to deliver an aspirational programme of improvements to raise standards significantly.
Massive improvements have been seen across the board with results steadily improving – the 95% figure places the College as one of the top education providers in the local area.
The College’s management team was particularly proud of OFSTED’s comment this summer that “Engagement with learners is outstanding”; the fact that they involve all learners with the running of their college has no doubt helped students to achieve; learners feel included in the College’s processes and this helps them to be motivated and reach their potential.
Derek O’Toole says: “The College intends to push on with its plans, raising the expectations and aspirations of its staff and learners alike. Great things lie ahead for the College and, with a team of dedicated and motivated staff behind us, the future looks bright for Hopwood Hall College.”
