Teenager charged over taxi driver knife attack

A teenager has been charged in connection with an attack on a taxi driver in Middleton.
The 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named, has been charged with robbery, Section 18 Assault and aggravated vehicle taking.
He is due before Rochdale Magistrates’ Court on Friday (25 November).
Shortly after 9.30pm on Tuesday 15 November 2011, a 39-year-old man had his throat cut by a robber who then stole his car, a black Vauxhall Vectra.
The car was involved in a collision with a parked car moments later and the offender ran away from the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries and has since been discharged.
