Don’t miss the chance to have your say

People are being urged to help shape the future of Rochdale Borough Council before the current consultation process ends next month.
The Council needs to make savings of £64million by 2015 and says its aim is to achieve the savings while still proving as many frontline services as possible - to help it do this it wants to hear from the public about what services matter most to them - and how they would like to see them delivered.

The council is also consulting directly with individuals and groups who would be affected by potential changes to services.
Council leader Councillor Colin Lambert said: “Our aim is to make the savings that are required while still protecting the vulnerable in our community and putting in place the foundations for a prosperous and dynamic future.”
“We are operating in an extremely tough financial environment but it is a task we are determined to get right as it will affect the quality of life in our communities for many years to come.”
“I urge people to get in touch and give us their views to ensure that we are equipped with as much information as possible as we take these crucial decisions.”
The public consultation closes on 19 December 2011 at 5.00pm. Council members will then consider the comments before decisions are announced in February 2012.
