Taxi driver stabbed and robbed

A taxi driver was stabbed and his car stolen in Middleton on Tuesday night.
Shortly after 9.30pm police were called to the Stakehill Industrial Estate by the ambulance service.
Officers attended and discovered a 39-year-old man with a neck injury.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not life threatening.
The victim’s taxi, a black Vauxhall Vectra, was driven off from the scene by the offender.
The car was involved in a collision with a parked car a few moments later at the junction of Kingsley Road and Stanycliffe Lane.
Witnesses saw a man, described as white, 6ft tall, of medium build and in his early 20s with a shaved head, running away from the scene.
Bentley Avenue in Middleton is currently (8.00am Wednesday 16 Nov) closed in both directions at the A664 Rochdale Road junction. Police are directing traffic. The closure is also affecting Finlan Road between Whitbrook Way and Touchet Hall Road.
Witnesses to the incident or anyone with information about the offender is asked to call police on 0161 856 4644.
