Donations invited for hospice Christmas fair
Date published: 14 November 2011
Organisers of the Springhill Hospice Christmas Fair are asking that anybody wishing to donate goods should contact them as soon as possible.
Fundraiser at the Hospice, Alison Cordwell, said: “The success of our Fairs owes a great deal to the amount of items donated and, of course, the quality of those items.
“Last year we raised a phenomenal amount at both our Spring and Christmas Fairs and it never fails to amaze us how the local community really get behind the events.
“We are always looking for raffle or tombola prizes and especially any type of home-bake as that stall is one of the most popular at every Fair.
“May I remind everybody that changes in legislation have meant that we cannot accept second-hand electrical goods.”
Anybody wishing to donate goods should take them direct to the Hospice on Broad Lane, or contact the Fundraising Office on 01706 649920 to arrange a convenient time for collection.
The fair takes place at the Hospice on Sunday 4 December, from 10.00am until 4.00pm.
Entrance to the fair, which will includes Santa’s Grotto and the usual selection of games, raffles, new and second-hand goods, is free but donations will gladly be received on the door.
Visitors are advised to take advantage of the Park and Ride Facility that will run from Kingsway Park High School on Turf Hill Road (the former Springhill High School) to the Hospice for the duration of the fair as parking at the Hospice will be limited.
