Pop singer Alexa Goddard is the last minute addition to the line up for this year’s Rochdale Christmas lights switch on replacing 'The Estrelles.'

The talented 22-year-old, is perhaps best known for her hit single ‘Turn My Swag On’ which reached the Top 20 last year.

Citing the work of the soul greats, both past and present as her inspiration, Alexa’s own style blends a modern soulful edge with infectious and fresh R&B melodies. The singer, whose popularity has exploded in the last year, is currently working on her debut album.

Alexa will be supporting X Factor boy band ‘The Risk’ at the switch on show, which starts at 5.00pm on Saturday 19 November on The Butts.

Also on the bill are new pop band ‘Eli Prime,’ local singer Jade Hegarty, the Mayor Councillor Alan Godson and stars from the Middleton Arena cast of ‘Aladdin.’

Previously announced X Factor judges house act ‘The Estrelles’ have been forced to cancel gigs for the next few weeks after their lead singer developed a severe throat infection.
