This has been Art Week at Alice Ingham School and all our pupils have been exploring the work of a range of artists.
Reception class have been making pictures in the style of Jackson Pollock…splattering paint to make the most amazing patterns.
Year 1 have been making pictures and sculptures using natural materials in the style of Andy Goldsworthy.
Year 2 have been looking at the work of Seurat who painted with points of colour and they have also been making a Film animation of the story of the Great Fire of London.
You will soon be able to see it on our school website.
Year 3 have been out and about looking at Graffiti Art. They are making their own pictures in the style of Banksy. They have also been making their own felt pictures.
Year 4 have been making a piece of sculpture in the style of Gaudi which will become part of our outdoor classroom.
Year 5 have painted on silk to make stunning wall hanging that illustrate Alice Ingham School.
Year 6 have focused on the work of Artist Wassily Kandisky.
All of this fantastic work will be displayed in the school Hall next week.
Congratulations to Reception class for 98% attendance….the best in the school again! Closely followed by Year 6 with 97%.
Make sure that you pop into school or fill in an order form for a coaster/ mouse mat/ placemat/ bag or mug with your child’s very own design. These will make great Christmas presents for aunties, uncles or grandparents.
Parents have had a very successful cooking session with Julie this week…making a vegetable and chicken curry. There are two more sessions…..thank you to those parents who have supported this great venture.
COFFEE afternoon is next Tuesday at 2.30pm….please come along and support your child’s school.
