TV competition winner announced

The winner of a competition to win a brand new TV has been announced.

Suzanne Banks, from Littleborough, was named the lucky winner of an energy efficient 22” HD ready TV worth £249.99 courtesy of Co-operative Energy, after she entered a competition through Rochdale Online.

Ms Banks said she was “absolutely shocked” when she found out she had won.

She said: “I thought it was a hoax and I sent it to my colleague to ask ‘is this real?’”

Ms Banks, who works in a contact centre, was celebrating her birthday at work when she found out – so her day was completed with another nice surprise.

A total of 1,200 people entered the competition. Five runners up received solar powered on the go mobile phone/iPhone chargers. They were: Russell Ovens, Katie Smith, Karen Dunstan, Chelsea Osmond and Sue Law.

Co-operative Energy’s Nigel Mason said: “Thank you to everyone for taking the time to enter our competition and congratulations to Suzanne on winning.

“As Britain’s newest energy supplier, we understand the pressure that people are under to reduce energy costs and therefore hope that our prizes will help the winners to do so.”
