Students go Gaga for media hair and make-up

Students from Hopwood Hall College took part in the Manchester Make-Up Regional Student Competition at Professional Beauty.

The College entered Erin Grayson, 17 and Kirsty Kean, 24, from the VRQ Level 3 Hair and Media Make-up group.

The pair had to complete 2 looks: a bridal theme entitled ‘English Rose’ and a glamour/night time theme entitled ‘Gaga’ and were in competition with students from across the region.

The judging panel included some top names in media hair and make-up including celebrity make-up artist Scott Beswick, Carolynne Poole from this year's X Factor and Kirsty Lee Porter from Emmerdale.

Tutor Becki Bork, said: “Both students had great comments on the work from the judges.

“This was an amazing experience for both the students; even though they didn’t walk away with a prize this time, they did so well, as it was the first time that they had entered a competition.

“We are sure that great things lie ahead for the talented young ladies.”
