Crafts bazaar launch marks ‘exciting time’ for Rochdale
Date published: 07 November 2011
The first in a series of Cultural Craft Bazaars took place on Sunday - and organisers say they had an ‘amazing response’ from both traders and customers.
The Rochdale Exchange joined forces with the Community Voluntary Sector to host the bazaars in the covered market.
The launch saw over 40 stalls selling a variety of goods from cupcakes to cushions and handbags to jewellery.
Organisers say the aim of the bazaar is to provide Rochdale with something that it has been missing as well as providing small, start up businesses and not for profit organisations an opportunity to sell their hand crafted goods to a larger audience.
Rochdale Exchange Centre Manger Lorenzo O’Reilly, said: “This is only the start and there has been such a good response from both stall holders and customers.
“We have already got more stalls booked on for the next bazaar on the 4 December.
“It is an exciting time here in Rochdale and I am looking forward to seeing the development of the Cultural Crafts Bazaar.”
