The borough of Rochdale has been heavily recognised at this year’s North West in Bloom awards – walking away with one gold and three silver awards.
Rochdale Township was recognised with a gold award in the ‘Best Large Town/Small City’ category, followed by the Pennines Township who received a silver gilt in the same category.
The Heywood Township also received a silver gilt in the ‘Best Large Town’ category.
And, Heywood Distribution Park received a silver gilt in the Best Retail, Commercial and Business Park category.
The overall winner in the schools environmental award category was awarded to St Edward’s Primary School in Castleton.
Judges from the Royal Horticultural Society announced the winners at a ceremony in Southport.
The accolades come following a visit from the judges in the summer who toured the townships.
