Voting has now opened for this year’s Rochdale Borough People’s Design Award.

The award is one of two up for grabs at the Rochdale Borough Design Awards and the winner will be the development with the most public votes.

The second is The Rochdale Borough Design Award, decided by a panel of experts in the urban design field.

Six developments have been put forward for the People’s Design Award.

They are:

  • The Golden Mosque Islamic Cultural Centre, Lower Sheriff Street, Rochdale
  • Rydal Gardens Apartments, Wood Street, Langley, Middleton
  • Improvements to Springfield Park, Bolton Road, Rochdale
  • Mike Goldrick Window Blinds Ltd, Dawson Street, Heywood
  • The Pavilion, Birtle Brook Village, near Bury
  • Jowkin View, Ashworth Valley, near Rochdale

The Awards are held to promote good design in new developments in the borough and to give the people of the borough the opportunity to have their say on recently completed developments.

This year the Awards are being sponsored by Rochdale Council and Sir Robert McAlpine, who are currently constructing the new Council offices in Rochdale.

Voting is open until Wednesday 7 December.

The winner will be revealed at a presentation later in the year.
