Six taken to hospital following fire

Two adults and four children have been taken to hospital following a fire at a house in Middleton.

Fire-fighters from Heywood were called to Newlands Walk, Langley, at 7.41am on Monday (31 October).

On arrival they were faced with a fire involving a domestic battery charger.

One male adult and two male children were given oxygen therapy by a fire service trauma technician.

Two adults and four children were then taken to hospital, suffering from the effects of smoke.

Fire-fighters used a hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan.
