New look to Langley Library

Date published: 26 January 2008

Visitors to Langley Library will be in for a pleasant surprise - it's been completely transformed by Rochdale Council and moved one hundred metres down the road.  The brand new facilities on Windemere Road were unveiled by Councillor Ted Flynn, Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Leisure, and Councillor Lil Murphy at a special preview, prior to an official opening planned for the Spring.

The new library now boasts a modern bookshop layout complete with new furniture, eight computers with internet access, teenage area and a collection of leisure/hobby DVD's for loan.

The library is now part of the Langley Childrens Centre, which will provide numerous opportunities for partnership working with young children and families.

Janice Tod, Area Librarian for Heywood and Middleton, said: "We've got many more possibilities here, I know everyone will be impressed with the new look, we've got lovely bright open spaces and user friendly facilities."
