Garage reopens following devastating fire
Date published: 26 October 2011
An MOT garage that was devastated by a fire has reopened.
Autocare Rochdale Ltd, on Count Street, was completely destroyed by a fire in July last year, but now 15 months on a new era has started for the family run business.
To mark the reopening owner David Fletcher and his wife Vikki were joined by Simon Danczuk MP for a special opening event. Mr Danczuk cut a tape to mark the occasion.
Mrs Fletcher said: “It feels fantastic to be open again and the opening do felt like the start of a new chapter after the awful year we've had.”
She added: “We have been fortunate though because my husband’s brother, Bill Fletcher, owns Passmonds Garage on Edenfield Road and shared tools and premises with us until last week.
“Also, many customers travelled across town to us there and this kept us going.”
