Man cut free from car following collision

A 43-year-old man was cut free from a car following a collision on Tuesday morning.
Fire-fighters were called to the junction of Tweedale Street and Castlemere Street at 11.15am, to a road traffic collision involving two cars.
The roof of a Smart car was removed and the man was freed using a spinal board.
The man was taken to Fairfield General Hospital, where he remains, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said.
There were no other reported casualties.
