The Rotary Club of Rochdale East held its 41st Charter night on Tuesday (18 October).
The black tie event, held at the Rhyddings Suite at the Royal Toby, was attended by club members and presidents of neighbouring clubs.
Stephen Mills, President of the Rotary Club of Rochdale East, said: “Eighty one members, friends and guests attended the Rhyddings Suite at the Royal Toby Hotel, where after having enjoyed a splendid meal, the Charter, granting the creation of the Rotary Club by Rotary International, was read by our newest member, Rotarian Doug Sutton.
“Following this, I had pleasure in awarding Councillor Robert Clegg with a tankard recognising his 25 years of membership to Rochdale East.
“After the relevant, and on occasions humorous, toasts, we were treated to excellent entertainment by our speaker, Mr Dudley Doolittle, who, probably because he knows some of our members, provided us with some superb ‘interactive’ comedy moments.
“I believe a very enjoyable evening was had by all.”
