Rochdale Sixth Form College Dance Enrichment
Beginner’s Japanese, iPhone App Development, Dancing, Sign Language and Experimental Science were just a few of the 70 plus Enrichment courses that Year12 and 13 students at Rochdale Sixth Form College were able to sign up to recently.
The enrichment opportunities have been designed to help students extend their education and personal growth beyond their academic studies, while also providing useful experience for their university application forms.
During the course of their academic life at the College, each student will take at least four of the activities.
Sonya Rafiq, a former pupil at Falinge Park High School, who is hoping to go on to study Neuroscience at university, is one of the students who has chosen to take Sign Language this term. She said: “Learning sign language is another new skill I have developed at Rochdale Sixth Form College, which will broaden my experiences and opportunities for the future.”
Tony Day, Vice Principal at Rochdale Sixth Form College, said: “At a time when other colleges have shrunk their choice of courses, we’ve actually extended our enrichment scheme as we see it as being vital to each student’s personal development.
“We get some great feedback from the students about the choice of courses available.”
