Woman’s car stolen at petrol station

A woman had her car stolen from a petrol station in Norden on Monday (17 Oct) night.

At around 9.30pm the victim, who is in her 20s, was at the Co-op petrol station on Edenfield Road. She was walking back to her black Audi A3 after paying for fuel when she was approached by two men.

They ran towards her and fearing for her safety, the victim tried to lock herself in her car. One of the men managed to get into the passenger seat and demanded she got out.

They demanded her keys and drove off along Bagslate Moor Road before turning onto Bury Road.

The men are described as being white, 5ft 10in tall and of stocky build. They were wearing balaclavas and dark clothing.

Detective Constable Danny Waywell from Rochdale CID said: “The ordeal has left the victim shaken as she feared if she did not hand over the keys, the men would have used violence to get what they wanted. 

“I would urge anyone who may have seen the incident or a black 2008 Audi A3 being driven away at speed from the petrol station to contact us as soon as possible.”
