Dawn raids target drug dealing

Eight people have been arrested following a series of dawn raids across the North West.
Cheshire police searched four addresses in Ellesmere Port, and subsequent locations in Liverpool, Widnes, Rochdale and Shropshire.
Eight people, believed to be involved in the supply of Class A drugs were arrested.
Officers from the Force Crime Operations Unit, supported by neighbourhood officers and specialist door entry teams conducted the raids this morning, (Tuesday 18 October) following weeks of meticulous planning.
Detective Superintendent Geraint Jones who headed up this morning's task force said: “I am pleased with today’s results in helping removing suspected drug dealers from the streets of Ellesmere Port and beyond.
“This operation was the culmination of a lengthy investigation and shows our continued commitment to tackling drug crime in Cheshire.”
