Parents reminded of secondary school place deadline
Date published: 17 October 2011
Parents whose children are due to transfer to secondary school in September 2012 have until the end of this week (21 October) to return application forms or apply online stating their four preferred choices.
Last year, over 250 parents either didn’t submit or were late with their application which can lead to their child not being offered a place at their first choice school.
Councillor Donna Martin, Cabinet Member for Children, Schools and Families, said: “The council needs an application form by the Friday deadline for every child who is starting at secondary school next September. I urge all parents to apply on time to give children the best chance of getting their preferred choices.”
Parents can apply online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, right up to the closing date at www.rochdale.gov.uk/schooladmissions or request a form by phoning 01706 925982.
